Eugene R. “Pat” Murphy is the Executive Director of Community Solutions, a non-profit organization in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and the author of Plan C – Community Survival Strategies for Peak Oil and Climate Change (New Society 2008). He co-wrote and co-produced the organization’s award-winning film, The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil (2006), and organized five national conferences on Peak Oil and Climate Change. He was a founding member of the board of the Passive House Institute US.
Prior to Community Solutions, Pat developed 3D solid modeling “design for manufacturing” software for residential builders and architects. He also designed and built active solar-heated, super-insulated homes and had a long career in computer applications in the transportation, construction and energy industries. Pat received his B.S. in mathematics and physics from the University of Hawaii.
